Post Care Instructions


Each treatment provided at Aiyana Atelier is unique to every client.

Botox/Dysport/Jeuveau/Xeomin

Fillers

Immediately After Treatment:

-Do NOT touch or apply ice to the treated area! 

- Avoid makeup application for the remainder of the day.

 For the First 48 Hours:

- Utilize acetaminophen (Tylenol) for any discomfort.

- No exercising or strenuous activity. Sweating can increase risks of infection or hyperpigmentation.

- Try to sleep slightly elevated and on your back to prevent migration of the product.

- Please avoid excessive alcohol consumption to avoid increased bruising and swelling.

  Expectations, Instructions and Tips:

- Gentle cleaning and normal skin care routine can continue.

- Do not massage or rub the treated area unless specifically instructed to do so by the treating provider.

- Redness, swelling, and small, light bruising is normal for a few days to a week (but largely improved within 72 hours).

- As product settles, the appearance may appear or feel uneven, tight, and/or tender. This is normal and should resolve by your 2 week follow-up.

- Please refrain from any type of vibration or direct pressure such as gua sha, face scrubber types, facial massages, etc for two weeks.

- Outreach the treating provider if any increasing pain, tenderness, or bruising.

 Filler/ Sculptra/ Threads Patients ONLY: 

- Do NOT schedule dental work or vaccines 2 weeks before or after planned appointment.

- Do NOT fly or travel long distances unless you have discussed with your treating provider.

Sculptra

Within the First 24 hours: 

-DO NOT HEAVILY massage areas on the FACE--follow your providers instructions for a GENTLE massage. 

-Massage ALL treated areas of the for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days as instructed at your appointment.

-Avoid strenuous exercise. 

- Please avoid excessive alcohol consumption to avoid increased bruising and swelling.

- May use acetaminophen (Tylenol) for any discomfort.

Expectations, Instructions and Tips:

-Swelling is usually significant in the first couple of days and then will drastically reduce as the product settles, and then a gradual increase in collagen is noted. 

-Redness/swelling is normal for a few days but should subside after 48 hours. 

- May use non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen) after 48 hours for discomfort.

Microneedling and Peels

Immediately After Treatment:

- DO NOT touch the treated area for at least 6 hours (unless instructed).

- Your skin may feel warm, tighter than usual, and appear as though you have a moderate to severe sunburn. This is normal!

- Further add on services (chemical peels, PRF, etc. ) can cause additional redness, swelling, or uneven discoloration.

For the First 72 Hours:

- Use lukewarm water to gently cleanse the skin.

- No exercising or strenuous activity. Sweating and heat can increase risks of infection or hyperpigmentation.

- Only use recommended or provided products as directed.

- Avoid makeup application. You may use a physical, tinted sunscreen.

- For microneedling: You may see slight redness or bruising that persists for a few days near thinner areas or on deeper treated areas.

- Please avoid excessive alcohol consumption to decrease bruising and swelling risk.

 Expectations, Instructions and Tips:

- You may notice slight swelling which is normal and will largely subside within 24 hours.

- Anticipate light to heavy flaking and/or peeling on Days 3-7. DO NOT pick, rub, or exfoliate in any way. Apply recommended hyaluronic acid and/or moisturizer!

- Your skin may be very sensitive in the first 14 days and may sting with some products and temperature changes. This includes when you resume physical activity- listen to your body!

- Avoid direct sun and ensure you are using a physical sunscreen only (zinc, titanium).

- Drink plenty of water!

Kybella

For the First 48 Hours:

- May use acetaminophen (Tylenol) for any discomfort.

- Avoid strenuous exercise.

- Please avoid excessive alcohol consumption to avoid increased bruising and swelling.

- Try to sleep upright, not on your side to take the pressure off your neck. If any other area was treated, try to avoid any sleeping position that leaves the treatment area unsupported in any way.

- Gently clean the area twice daily with mild soap.

Expectations, Instructions and Tips:

- Redness and significant swelling on treated areas within the first week.

- A ‘bullfrog’ appearance with fluid around the treated area is normal.

- Numbness, discomfort, and tenderness to touch are common in the first few weeks to 2 months. A gentle massage, jade, or ice roller, not to exceed 5 minutes, twice daily may be helpful.

- Avoid irritants (glycolics, acids, retinoids, etc.) until all redness and swelling resolve.

- May use non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen) after 48 hours for discomfort.
